Golden Lotus Oasis is an official body of Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.), located in Laguna Hills, California, USA. Soror Lutea, Master of the Camp was granted the right to organize the Degrees of the MMM by the National Grand Master General, Sabazius X on the 24th of April 1999. Golden Lotus Oasis is also the home of The Sanctuary of the Holy Grail, whose Priestess and Priest are Soror Lutea and Frater S.L.Q. They operate under the auspices of Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica, the ecclesiastical branch of the O.T.O., and hold regular performances of Liber XV, the Gnostic Catholic Mass. The purpose of the Mass is to "administer the virtues to the bretheren," to its Camp members and interested members of the public. The Sanctuary also performs the Rites of Baptism, Confirmation, and Ordination to those that meet the EGC requirements. The Oasis recognizes and honors the Rituals of the Elements and Feasts of the Times throughout the year, as well as participates in The Rites of Eleusis as set forth and written by its esteemed creator, Aleister Crowley. Additionally, many classes on Thelemic thought and rite are presented, as well as classes and workshops on magic in general. Golden Lotus Oasis specializes in the history, art, literature, philosophies and magic of Ancient Egypt, which have so greatly influenced Thelemic thought and ritual. The Oasis also possesses an extensive library of Thelemic, Egyptian and Occult literature for the viewing of its members. Golden Lotus Oasis was so named, as the lotus is the universal symbol from Egypt that embodies creativity, fertility, purity and enlightenment. It proclaims fresh born beauty as well as resurrection, in that though the Nile may be often muddy, the flower emerges clean and pure, and is said "to enshrine the mysterious secrets of the gods". It is also the symbol of the sun and typifies light, understanding, fruitfulness and plentitude. It is the external representation of the womb of the goddess, encompassing the divine principles of both virginity of the maiden and fecundity of the mother. The golden lotus is also known as the fourth chakra, the Anahata chakra of the heart. Golden Lotus Oasis was opened in the name of love, that its brothers and sisters might find solace for the mind, refuge for the body and comfort for the soul. That in this sacred space one may nurture like the opening of a lotus, the unfolding of knowledge within the self, bringing light within and giving life without. In the name of freedom, like the lotus that stretches to the surface of the water from its seed and roots in rich soil, let all find golden fulfillment in their spiritual attainments from the truths of self-born knowledge. Let this Body serve as an oasis found in the desert night, which lends a guiding light to the traveler, promising peace, nourishment and joy of heart. |
